Across Virudhunagar district, 80 kilometres from the age-old urban centre of Madurai, the Srivilliputhur Andal Place of worship stands as a grand emblem of devotion. This place of worship, dedicated to the Hindu god Vishnu, features the grandeur of Dravidian structures and holds a revered spot in the Nalayira Divya Prabandham, a seminal Tamil scripture penned by the Alvar saints between the 6th and 9th centuries CE.

Celebrated as one of the 108 Divya Desams, this place of worship venerates Vishnu as Vatapatrasayi and his consort Lakshmi as Andal.
