Looking back I to this day don't remember why I chose Bir but glad I did. I flew to Dharamshala, Himachal and took a cab to go to Bir which is approximately 70 Kms from the airport and takes anything around 2 hours to reach. The driver avoided the main highway and took the smaller road that leads to Bir. I could already see the snow-clad peaks all around me and feel the winter chill in the air. The smell of peaks around was making me smile all the way as I made some random conversations with the driver.

However, I got stuck in a traffic jam just before reaching Bir and was already questioning my decision of coming here. I decided to leave the cab and started walking towards Bir with my backpack. I was literally freezing as I walked. A few moments fast forward, I checked into my room, layered up well, ate some food and slept. I kept thanking myself for booking only 2 days in Bir as I passed out for the day.
